Posh Elite: Claudia Paola Ambrosino

Posh Culture would like to introduce our newest Posh Elite Claudia Ambrosino.  The first glance of her screams vintage with a bit of modern mixed in there to create a style unique to her. In her own words she describes herself as a vintage lover, street style enthusiast and champion of whimsy inspired by the unique chic flair of her home cities Rome and NYC. With a hat collection that Posh will definitely love to steal this summer, this Italian New Yorker gets an A+ for her awesome style.

What does fashion mean to you? For me, fashion is a way to express and identify oneself, a way to outwardly define ourselves by cultivating a particular aspect of our appearance and how we wish others to see us. For that reason, I think all fashion, especially as pertains to personal, individual style, becomes a medium of creativity and a form of self-expression and self-identification. For me, fashion can be both defining and reflective of an era and of the individual that lives through it.

What inspires your style? Most definitely regular people, both the ones that I know and most especially the ones that I see on the street. I've always loved people watching ever since I was little; I loved to study how a person carried themselves, what they wore, how they spoke. For some reason, I always found this really fascinating and inspiring

What are your top three favorite places to shop? When I'm in NYC: Urban Outfitters, Anthropologie, and H&M. And when I'm back in Rome: Zara, Mango, & H&M.

What is one thing that every fashionista should have? A recognizable "something" that becomes your signature. Anything, like an accessory or a physical trait, that becomes part of your "look," that remains the same no matter where you are or what you are wearing and that people will immediately associate with you. It could be bold brows or eyeglasses, winged eyeliner, bright lipstick or hair, or even a fresh, natural face, anything that you like and gravitate towards no matter what. Don't shy away from it, and don't feel like you have to change it or "alternate." Stick to what you like! It's something of "you" that you will bring to whatever you choose to wear, and this helps make it your own.

Any fashion advice for Posh readers? Stick to what you like and what you feel comfortable wearing. That's the surest way to cultivate and brand your own signature look. Listen to fashion advice, but don't let other people tell you what to wear or how to wear it. If you like it, you'll be happy with it, and you'll look good in it, and that's the most important thing. Be inspired by people, but don't imitate them. Reinterpret it and make it your own. And don't be afraid to be bold. Chances are people aren't looking at you, and if they are, they are probably admiring how nice you look.

In our eyes, Claudia is worthy of royalty
