Lets Play Make-Up

Eyeshadows, Lipsticks and Blushes and Powders; Big Bows, and small bows with models and cameras.. these are a few of our favorite things.. When the wind blows and the models show and the flashes go off, we simply remember our favorite things and then we feel so happy!!! LOL These artsy, colorful clean shots were taken by Flemming Leitorp and the make up was done by Sidsel Marie Bøg. We saw the shoot and fell in love.. Enjoy!

Posh would also like to apologize for being so slow with posting!! We should be having two new Posh Elites soon, so watch out for that..

Posh Music: American Idol Finale Highlights

If you missed the AI finale last night, well the two major highlights for posh were the Beyonce & Marc Anthony and Jennifer Lopez performances. We have to say the stage chemistry between Jennifer and Marc is amazing. As we watched them perform together, we couldn't help but dance to the beat of the drums as we awwed at Marc's Latino swag. Also, trust Beyonce to bring it... With all the Girl power going around, we were pleased she went for a more subtle approach.. loved the song choice. We cant wait for the album to come out..

Posh Shoes: Penelope and Coco Anyone??

Penelope and Coco Anyone?? How would you like some leopard skin oxfords with the special delicious dalmatian print booties topped with bedazzled boots for your main entree? We sure will!! By now, you should know posh culture and our shoe addiction. Marisa Spinella, the designer behind Penelope and Coco has stolen our hearts and we are officially have an affair.. shhh!!! Jeffery Campbell can't hear about this...

Marisa Spinella describes her line as a combination of her two alter egos...
Penelope is a dainty, classic, vintage lover. She discovers the beauty in odd belongings, applies red lipstick without a pause and is guided by the old hollywood glamour of miss Rita Hayworth.
Coco is bold, complicated and risqué. Her sexual energy and eccentric mystique has all eyes on her. Regardless of location, a woman with no strongs attached, Coco connects the two personalities by blending her animated emotions with the delicacy and alluring manner of Miss Penelope .
Marisa's campaigns for each collection are to die for.. The videos are so fashion savvy and the photo shoots are mini pieces of artworks on their own.. Enjoy!

All pictures and videos were gotten from Penelope and Coco website

Posh Elite (Designer Edition): Dumebi Iyamah

Posh Culture would like to introduce our next Posh Elite Dumebi Iyamah.  Dumebi is a self-taught Nigerian designer working her way up in the fashion industry with her impeccable creativity and style. This multitalented designer also dabbles in art and photography which she believes allows her to see life from a different perspective. In her own words, "its bliss to be able to capture moments people overlook and create substance out of it".  Posh Culture is proud to feature Dumebi because she is a lady with dreams that is going places..Watch out fashion world, Dumebi is taking over!!

Name:  Dumebi Iyamah

Website? www.andreaiyamah.blogspot.com

What does fashion mean to you?  Fashion means a lot to me. Its fun to be able to bring my imagination to reality by creating distinct designs. Fashion is an expression of who I am and how I feel. I love colors, which is very obvious from my collection. I’m a fun friendly person one I would call a colorful personality.

When did your love for designing begin?  I have grown up in a family that embraces fashion to the fullest. My mom inspired me from a young age with her great sense of style. She also worked part time as a makeup artiste, so I was exposed to beauty and creativity from an early age. At the age of 13 she suggested I attend sewing classes so I would be able to create my designs.

Can you tell us about your latest collection and the inspiration behind it?  My latest collection the “Dinma Collection” is definitely inspired by the seasons spring and summer. I played with a lot of bright colors and African fabric to suit the season.

Are there any key pieces in the collection? There are no key pieces in the collection; I tried to put my creativity in each piece as much as possible. Its hard to pick my favorites, I love every piece

Did you make this collection with a certain audience in mind? If yes, who and why? This collection was made for every age actually. I try to reach every age range as much as possible, to satisfy a wide range of people.

Any fashion advice for Posh readers?  Be confident in what you consider is your fashion. One thing is to never try too hard, embrace what you feel suits your personality and body; you don’t particularly have to wear what every one is wearing, but what your comfortable in.

Meet the designer...

In our eyes, Dumebi is worthy of royalty

Leighton Meester on L'Officiel China

Our favorite Gossip Girl was on the cover of L'Offciel China and she looked so good that even Blair Waldorf would have been envious. Leighton made color blocking look so classy that we were in awe. The Queen of B as the editorial is called definitely gets an A+  for her alluring simplicity because we cant get enough for Miss Meester.

Color Blocking is becoming pretty popular this summer and we're sure some of our readers would like to get their hands on some nice color blocking outfits. So here are a few we found online...
